Every member of our family, Dr Medhat Ramzy (father), Dr Mona Ramzy (mother), Dr Anthony Ramzy (son) and Monica Ramzy (daughter) share a single vision for your smile: providing customised dental care that’s tailored to your individual concerns, budget and needs. Although we have practiced in the inner city Melbourne community area for years, it wasn’t until 2017 when our family came together to establish our own, shared-vision dental practice at Willsmere Dental. Our family looks after yours, always being available to accommodate your needs at a moment’s notice and working with you to ensure your teeth stay healthy and looking their best. We have an on site oral health therapist and a team of qualified, experienced professionals which enables us to provide you with a full range of dental treatments in one convenient, central Kew location.

Dr Medhat Ramzy

Principal Dentist

Dr Ramzy is passionate about helping his patients to feel better and more confident as a result of having a healthy smile. He is a big believer in preventative dentistry. Dr Ramzy has over 30 years experience as a dentist, and during this time he has developed a passion for educating his patients about the importance of taking care of one’s oral health. Willsmere Dental has been many years in the making and was established by Dr Ramzy in 2017. Opening a practice with his family has been Dr Ramzy’s vision for some time. Dr Ramzy loves seeing many families, he also likes being able to work with his family at the practice. At Willsmere Dental, Dr Ramzy is joined by his wife, Dr Mona Ramzy, his son Dr Anthony Ramzy (who are both dentists), and his daughter, Monica Ramzy, is an oral health therapist. Enjoying the Artistic Side of Dentistry While it also can be considered a science, dentistry has an artistic aspect to it that Dr Ramzy finds compelling. “I have a passion for being creative and particularly enjoy cosmetic dentistry and seeing the incredible transformations in patients’ confidence.” For him, seeing so many satisfied patients makes dentistry worthwhile.


Dr Anthony Ramzy

Dentist

With two parents who are dentists, Dr Anthony had the unique experience of growing up around dentistry. From a young age, his upbringing ignited a passion to help others regain their self-confidence through a healthy, beautiful smile.' Education and Professional Development Dr Anthony received his Bachelor of Health Sciences in Dentistry and a Master in Dentistry from the renowned La Trobe University. While there, he particularly enjoyed getting to build relationships with classmates and professors from near and far. To stay abreast of the latest in dentistry and provide patients with the best service possible, Dr Anthony continues to participate in various professional development courses. He has taken advanced coursework relating to Invisalign® and has received honours on implantology with ARIA. Dr Anthony is qualified and accredited with the Australasian Academy of Dento-Facial Aesthetics (AADFA), giving him the additional training necessary for injectable and cosmetic therapies.


Dr Dana Chamma

Dentist

Dr Dana always has had a desire to provide services to help people with their health and living, so dentistry was an excellent fit for her. She is interested in many aspects of dentistry, including aesthetic, restorative and paediatric dentistry. Dr Dana is passionate about calming patients who have had negative experiences with dentists in the past. “I enjoy changing their idea about coming to the dentist.” Her gentle approach to Dentistry sees her helping patients overcome Dental Phobias and feel comfortable during treatments.  Education and Professional Development To prepare for her career in dentistry, Dana earned a Bachelor of Biomedical Science from Monash University-Clayton and a Doctor of Dental Surgery from The University of Melbourne. She graduated from dental school in 2016. To stay abreast of the latest in dentistry, Dana takes many continuing education courses including her practice in cosmetic dentistry with Invisalign. “It’s fulfilling to achieve results that make patients happy. I also enjoy helping them improve their oral health for better living.”


Dr Shannon Gune

Dentist

Dr Shannon is highly experienced in all facets of dentistry and has particular expertise in root canal treatment and dental implants (prosthodontics). After graduating in 1997 from the University of Melbourne with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery, Dr Shannon had further training in oral surgery in the United Kingdom in 1999. He also completed a Graduate Diploma in Clinical Dentistry in 2003. Dr Shannon is highly experienced in all facets of dentistry and has particular expertise in root canal treatment and dental implants (prosthodontics). He is a member of the Australian Dental Association (ADA). As he understands that many dental patients experience anxiety, Dr Shannon provides reassurance and comfortable care. He always will take the time to explain what he will be doing and then ensure that dental treatment is as comfortable as possible.


Monica Ramzy

Oral Health Therapist

As an oral health therapist and member of the Ramzy family, Monica provides patients with dental hygiene and dental therapy, including treatment of gum disease. As an oral health therapist and member of the Ramzy family, Monica provides patients with dental hygiene and dental therapy, including treatment of gum disease. Her extensive training in paediatric-specific techniques allows her to provide a full range of services for patients up to 25 years old. These treatments include fillings, extractions, routine cleans and exams. Monica does not see new adult patients, but does see new patients aged 17 and younger. She treats our general dentistry patients up to the age of 25 and cleans all our patients’ teeth. By growing relationships with children and their families, she helps promote good habits that reduce the potential for problems like cavities and gum disease later on.
