Dr. Mark Summerford was born and raised in Montgomery, AL. After graduating with honors from Auburn University in 2002, he received his Doctorate of Dental Medicine from UAB in 2006.
While at UAB, Dr. Summerford received several awards including The International Congress of Oral Implantologists Pre-doctoral Achievement Award, Excellence in Prosthodontics Award, and American Academy of Orofacial Pain Award. He also participated in the work study program in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at UAB where he received extra training in oral surgery.
Dr. Summerford is a tripartite member of the American Dental Association, serving as a past President of the Ninth District of the Alabama Dental Association in addition to serving on several committees of the Alabama Dental Association. Presently, he is an Alternate Delegate to the American Dental Association representing the State of Alabama, and he is also on the Alabama Dental Association’s Board of Trustees.
Dr. Summerford and his wife, Candice, have one daughter, Laynie, and they are active members of Church of the Highlands. Dr. Summerford enjoys spending time with friends and family and is an avid Auburn sports fan.
