How Dental Implants Can Give You Back Your Smile
Those who have struggled with broken or missing teeth know all too well of the issues that come with them. Food can be hard to enjoy, leaving you on a limited diet. Wouldn’t you love to restore your missing teeth and return to the foods you love? With dental implants, you can!

Dental implants are a permanent solution for missing teeth. Unlike dentures, dental implants are implanted right into the bone of your jaw. Made of titanium, a small post is installed that forever stays intact and sturdy. You don’t have to worry about adhesives or glues.

Benefits of Dental Implants

The great thing about dental implants is that they emulate real bone and gums! This effectively eliminates the worry for degradation or deterioration. You can also look forward to dental implants being more durable and reliable than that of dentures or bridges.

Since the implants are synthetic, you will have perfect oral hygiene. It is still recommended that you follow all normal dental hygiene to ensure that your new teeth stay healthy and strong.

Getting Dental Implants

So, how are these implants performed? You’re generally looking at just a couple of surgeries. The first surgery that takes place is where you have a special rod installed into your jaw. This rod has small posts that stick up through the gums. The healing process for the first surgery can take anywhere from 3 to 6 months.

Once you are thoroughly healed, you’ll be ready to have your second and final surgery. This is when you have the actual synthetic tooth surgically implanted into the post in your gums. Soon after, you will be able to smile with confidence and eat the foods you love!

Aftermath of Surgery

Before you can eat anything you like, you will need to be placed on a diet of soft foods. It can take a little while for your mouth to heal fully. But once it does, you can eat anything you like! Simply take care of your new teeth like you would your real ones.
