Teeth Whitening
Is your smile less bright than it used to be? You aren’t alone. Many people deal with stained and discoloured teeth. While we can take efforts to prevent this, it’s a natural part of aging.
However, that doesn’t mean you can’t reverse the hands of time and restore your bright smile. What you’re looking for is a teeth whitening treatment.
Veneers
You want to address a few cosmetic issues with your teeth, but you aren’t sure how. Have you considered asking your dentist about veneer services?
Years of wear and tear take their toll on your teeth. Despite your best efforts, they aren’t as bright as they used to be. Our smiles can become damaged by teeth-staining food and drinks, decay, and mouth injuries.
Porcelain veneers are an excellent solution for those with:
Stained teeth
Chipped teeth
Minor crooked teeth and small gaps
Worn teeth
With veneers, you can address all of these oral health concerns in one or two appointments. At our dental centre, we offer porcelain veneers for patients of all ages. Learn more about our Veneer services.
Emergency Services
Accidents rarely occur at convenient times. Dental emergencies are no different; more often than not, they occur in the middle of a meal or late at night. But if you’re experiencing severe tooth pain, you can’t wait until the next day—you need to see an emergency dentist as soon as possible.
Are you dealing with a dental emergency in Winnipeg? At Affinity Dental, we offer same-day appointments for patients who require urgent care. We do our best to schedule your treatment as soon as possible.
Dental X-Rays
It’s hard to know what’s really going on with your teeth just by looking at the surface. To get a clearer picture of your oral health, your dentist may take x-rays. These images are used to diagnose underlying issues. We can use them to screen for oral cancer, periodontitis, bone loss, and/or issues with your wisdom teeth.
We only take x-rays as needed (usually once a year) or when we see a new patient. Radiographs emit very low levels of radiation, which means that they’re safe for children and adults.
Extractions
When a tooth becomes infected, broken, or decayed, your best option may be to have it extracted. Our dentists aim to make tooth removals as comfortable as possible for you. We also offer restorative solutions for missing teeth, including dental implants, bridges, and dentures.
Tooth extractions are often required for wisdom teeth. Since the third molars emerge later in life, you might not have enough space in your mouth for them. If they are impacted, they can cause issues with your surrounding teeth.
There are two main types of tooth extractions. The first is a simple extraction. This is where the tooth has already emerged above the gum line, so your dentist can remove it relatively easily using dental forceps.
But what if the tooth is in a difficult position? The tooth may have curved roots or be in close proximity to nerves. The jaw bone may be too dense to remove the tooth with dental forceps alone. In these cases, a surgical extraction is more suitable.
If the wisdom tooth hasn’t fully erupted yet, a surgical extraction may be required; your dentist will need to make an incision in the gum line to remove the tooth.
