Dental Bonding
Dental bondings are in the simplest terms aesthetic laminates applied to the facial surface of the teeth using the same materials used for traditional tooth fillings. Just like traditional fillings, this procedure is directly applied to the teeth and can be quite weak and less superior, given the type of material used. But when they are polished, the expert is able to give teeth bondings the appearance of natural tooth structure.
Dental Bridges
Bridges are custom-made appliances anchored to the existing neighboring teeth to replace one or more missing teeth. The designing of the bridgework and the assignment of the abutments or support are determined by the number of teeth lost, the presence of forces; and it is also governed by the Ante’s Law which states that the surface area of the supporting teeth should be equal to or greater than the surface area of the edentulous space that needs to be filled.
Dentures
Dentures are recommended for patients who have lost several or all of their teeth due to accidents or decay. Dentures replace lost or missing teeth for you to enjoy full mouth functionality and be able to smile with confidence. Dentures are made of either acrylic or metal.
There are two types of dentures: complete dentures and partial dentures. A complete denture replaces all of your natural teeth in either the upper or lower jaw while a partial denture fills in the spaces left by lost or missing teeth. Partial dentures are fastened to your natural teeth with metal clasps or ‘precision attachments’.
Dental Implants
Dental implants completely simulate a natural tooth compared to what other prosthetics are able to achieve. This treatment involves a surgical procedure that replaces missing teeth almost completely: a titanium cylinder secured in the bone functions as the root of your tooth, then a crown attached to the titanium cylinder completes the appearance of a natural tooth. In terms of appearance, stability and function, dental implants can fully mimic your existing natural teeth.
Root Canal Treatment
A root canal treatment repairs and saves a damaged or infected tooth – an alternative to having your tooth removed. The term “root canal” pertains to the cleaning of the canals inside your tooth’s root.
Before modern dental technology, root canal treatments were often painful. However, with local anesthetics and advances in dentistry, most people can now have a practically painless root canal procedure. Having a decayed tooth is surely more painful than the root canal treatment.
