Dr. Michael Ayzin, DDS

Dr. Ayzin is the Clinical Director of Dentistry @ Its Finest in Costa Mesa of Orange County, and has been in private practice for over 20 years. He studied Psychobiology at the University of Southern California, and then, due to an acceleration of his studies, earned his DDS degree at USC Dental School in 1988. Dr. Ayzin is a Fellow of The World Clinical Laser & Imaging (WCLI) Institute. He is affiliated with the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the American Dental Association, the California Dental Association, and the Orange County Dental Society. Dr. Ayzin is also on the staff of Hoag Hospital, one of the most respected facilities in Orange County. He is married for over 25 years and has a 26 year old son, Ron. Dr. Ayzin’s hobbies are photography, traveling, and good food.
As a director of a private dental practice, Dr. Ayzin specializes in state-of-the-art cosmetic treatments, including porcelain veneers and full mouth reconstruction, as well as fast and effective pain relief, dental fillings, root canals, wisdom and other difficult tooth extractions, periodontal care for bleeding gums, and more. He provides geriatric dentistry for his older patients, and he particularly enjoys working with kids, helping them build good dental health that will last a lifetime.
Dr. Ron Ayzin, DDS

Dr. Ron Ayzin is focused on delivering personalized patient care in a comforting environment to patients of all ages. He proudly offers a comprehensive range of dental services encompassing all areas of dentistry.
Dr. Ayzin is a SoCal native and received his Bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience from the University of Southern California (USC). He obtained his DDS degree from the University of the Pacific (UoP), Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry. As a student, he was elected to the Tau Kappa Omega dental honor society, received several awards for his outstanding clinical work, and graduated from both his undergraduate and dental school with honors.
He is a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the Academy of General Dentistry, and the California Dental Association. Dr. Ayzin completed his Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and worked as a faculty member there as well. Aside from providing his patients with high-quality dental treatment and care, Dr. Ayzin’s interests include basketball, food, working out, football, and spending time with his loved ones.
Dr. Soo Kwon, DMD

Dr. Kwon grew up in Seoul, South Korea then moved to Michigan as an exchange student when she was sixteen. Then she moved to Wenham, MA to pursue her Bachelor’s degree in Biology at Gordon College. Dr. Kwon graduated from Harvard School of Dental Medicine in Boston, MA and received her general practice residency training at Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Center in Downey, CA where she had rich experience working with medically complex patients. Dr. Kwon decided to pursue dentistry because of her mother who had lots of dire dental needs and wanted to help other patients with similar experiences as her mother. She also has a heart for patients with disabilities who have limited access to dental care.
Dr. Kwon’s clinical skills include cosmetic work such as fillings, crowns, veneers, Invisalign as well as root canal treatments, implants, and extractions. She believes in lifelong learning and continues to expand and update her professional knowledge and skills by attending multiple continuing education courses and seminars. Dr. Kwon is a member of the American Dental Association, Los Angeles Dental Society, Spear Education, and PIA study club.
Dr. Kwon has a unique skill in calming nervous patients in dental chairs and educating patients about their dental health.
Dr. Javier Mejia, DDS

Dr. Javier Mejia born and raised in Colombia. He received his undergraduate and Doctorate in Dental Surgery (DDS) from the Javeriana University in Bogota in 1990. After graduation from dental school, he began to practice and improve her skills until 1999 when he decided to move to the States. After successfully passed the National Dental Boards and all ADA requirements, he was licensed to practice in California in 2002. After several years practicing in the Souther California area, and when he start his own practice, he got involved in the Orthodontics field very seriously, after taking some continuing education courses, he got inspired to pursue higher education and to return to the Bosque University in his country of origin for 3 years of Orthodontic Specialty training, where he received a Masters Degree (MS) in Orthodontics.
Since Orthodontics become his profession and his passion, he is continuously furthering his knowledge of orthodontics, dento-facial orthopedics, TMJ treatments, lingual braces, TAD’s, Invisalign and all the new advances in this fast pace changing field.
Dr. Mejia expertise as a bilingual orthodontist makes him an invaluable member of our team.
Dr. Mejia is certified by the Dental Board of California and is an active member of the American Association of Orthodontists, the World Federation of Orthodontists, the American Dental Association, the California Dental Association and the Orange County Dental Society.
Dr. Peter Refela, DDS

Dr. Peter Refela was born and raised in Los Angeles. He attended the UCLA School of Dentistry for both dental school and his periodontics and implant surgery residency. He is currently very active in the field of periodontics and is a fellow of the American Academy of Periodontology and a member of the California Society of Periodontists, Western Society of Periodontology, American Dental Association, and California Dental Association.
CLINICAL PHILOSOPHY
As a doctor, he is gentle and attentive to his patients’ overall health and needs. He always encourages patient participation and enjoys sharing step by step treatment plans so that they are fully aware of what to anticipate. His main area of expertise is in implant placement and treating gum recession with soft tissue grafts.
Dr. Salman Hussein
Anesthesiologist
Dr. Hussain is a graduate from Loma Linda University’s Dental Anesthesiology program, a two year post doctorate degree. During his training at Loma Linda University Medical Center, a trauma facility with sixteeen operating rooms, he received extensive training in medical anesthesiology.
He also received further specialized training at the Special Care Dentistry Clinic at the Loma Linda School of Dentistry, which sees nearly five thousand patients annually, primarily comprised of pediatric and adult special needs patients. He is a member of the American Society of Dentist Anesthesiologists, Society for Pediatric Anesthesia, International Anesthesia Research Society, the American Dental Association, and the California Dental Association. He holds certification in both Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Pediatric Advanced Life Support.
Prior to his training as an anesthesiologist, he obtained his undergraduate and doctoral degrees from McGill University, following which he served four years in the Royal Canadian Military.
