Implant and Aesthetic Academy

The Implant and Aesthetic Academy was founded in 2004 by two Specialists dedicated to sharing their knowledge and passion for dentistry and more specifically implantology and aesthetics.

Dr Howard Gluckman & the late Dr Mark Otto, began giving private courses in 1998 which developed into a comprehensive course on all aspects of Implantology that we have today. The lack of postgraduate training in implantology at the time at any of the Universities in South Africa had made the Academy a premier institution for dental practitioners to be trained in Implantology and Aesthetics.

Over the years the courses have grown and in 2007 the Academy was given international accreditation by both DENTSPLY/Friadent and the University of Frankfurt, which is one of the leading Implantology Universities in the world. In 2014 the academy was one of only 3 international facilities given accreditation for the one year Online Externship program from DentalXp which earns the participating student a Diploma from Stoney Brook University in New York.

The Academy has steadily grown its education base starting with 4 courses a year to a current 10 and growing. We have also branched out with courses in aesthetics as well as Biomimetic Aesthetic Dentistry. Our braintrust has also increased with a number of new lecturers who have given the Academy the credibility that it has today. Future developments involve the possibility of offering international courses in both Cape Town and Dubai as well as online education allowing you to participate in all the academy courses from the comfort of your own home.

The academy is also proud to be associated with the establishment of International partners, The Implant and Aesthetic Academy Slovakia and The Implant and Aesthetic Academy India. We look forward to increasing our footprint globally.
