Preventive Care
Newest Smile Dental is your New Westminster Dental Clinic that focuses on your oral health needs. We believe that the most important way to achieve long-term oral health is through regular cleanings and check-ups.
At a typical recall examination, our patients can expect to receive the following:
Scaling (hand instrumentation and/or ultrasonic)
Root planing
Polishing
Fluoride treatment
Digital x-rays
Comprehensive dental examination
We will review ways to maximize your oral health during home care through demonstration of proper brushing and flossing techniques, and through education about dietary contributions to oral health as well as periodontal disease(s) that may adversely affect your oral environment.
Restorative Dentistry
Out team utilizes a variety of restorative “filling” materials that are best-suited to replace tooth structure lost to decay, infection, erosion, abrasion and/or abfraction. We will endeavour to educate our patients on the causes for needing fillings in hopes of eliminating their risk for future problems.
Some of the restorative materials used include:
Composite tooth-coloured fillings
Resin-modified glass ionomer filling (fluoride-releasing)
Gold inlays, onlays, and crowns
Porcelain inlays, onlays, and crowns
Porcelain fused to metal crowns
Cosmetic Smile
At Newest Smile Dental, we recognize that not every person is born with flawless teeth. However, it is our goal to give our patients their ideal smile – both aesthetically and functionally! We offer a variety of cosmetic dental procedures, including:
Composite tooth-coloured fillings
Cosmetic veneers (chair side composite or lab-fabricated porcelain)
Invisalign®
Teeth whitening (take home trays and/or chair side)
We encourage you to make an appointment at our office to discuss the ways we can help you create a healthy, confident smile!
Sedation Dentistry
Do you put off dental visits until you are in severe pain? Are you a fearful or nervous dental patient? Do you have a strong gag reflex or have difficulty with numbing? If so, you are not alone – and Newest Smile Dental is here to help.
It is not uncommon for some people to experience anxiety related to their dental treatment. Thanks to Newest Smile’s sedation dentistry, we can alleviate stress that might cause you to avoid or postpone needed procedures. We are trained to administer both oral sedation and IV sedation, and will help you decide which is best for you.
Sedation dentistry allows us to treat patients with a strong gag reflex or extreme anxiety in a single extended visit. It is also a popular choice with patients that have time challenges and want to get a body of treatment done in fewer visits.
