Choosing between a permanent bridge and removable dentures is unnecessary if you're missing a tooth or multiple teeth. Dental implants are your best option if you have any of the following conditions: Damaged or missing teeth Decaying teeth Long-term dental issues The absence of teeth from birth Natural tooth pain Due to their realistic appearance and feel, dental implants have replaced natural teeth as the gold standard for tooth replacement. Dental implants replace the "root" of a lost tooth in the jawbone during oral surgery. The lost root of the tooth is replaced by titanium metal, which merges with the jawbone. If you're considering dental implants in Miami, here are some things to consider: 1. Understanding dental implants The American Academy of Implant Dentistry recognizes two implant systems as safe. Two common types of implants are endosteal and subperiosteal: Cylindrical or root-shaped endosteal implants are implanted directly into the jawbone. These may restore single teeth, bridges, and complete arches. Most dental implants are endosteal. Subperiosteal implants support complete arch tooth restoration under the gums and over the jawbone under challenging cases. Titanium dental implants. This biocompatible substance supports replacement teeth. Dental implants don't need grinding down surrounding teeth to hold the replacement teeth. 2. Find out what to anticipate. When you visit your AAID-certified dentist, you will get a full dental checkup (including X-rays and a thorough evaluation of your mouth). Following that, you'll go through a treatment plan and have the chance to ask questions and address any issues you may have. Your AAID-credentialed dentist will use the newest pain management techniques to keep you comfortable during each operation.  3. Practice good personal hygiene. Implants prevent cavities. It would help if you still brushed and flossed. Dental hygiene is essential if you have implants. An implant dentist will check your gums and bone structure before implanting. Post-surgery oral hygiene and dental appointments are crucial. To avoid infection, dental implants must be well-brushed and flossed. Implants and dental health depend on oral hygiene. Regular dental cleanings and examinations are necessary because plaque and tartar can hide in hard-to-reach places even with proper home maintenance. 4. Clarify dental implant costs. Dental implants improve general health and mental well-being. Due to their long-term impact and excellent quality, dental implants can be more cost-effective than tooth-supported restorations. Tooth-supported bridges last 7 to 10 years. Dental implants survive longer with good care. Dental implants also protect your jawbone, unlike bridges or dentures. Leaving empty areas in your mouth after losing one or more teeth can cause jawbone loss, tooth shifting, and bite problems. Only dental implants retain and encourage natural bone. Many dental plans now include dental implants due to their success. Dental implants may be cheaper than expected. Discover dental implant expenses. 5. Consult an AAID-certified implant dentist Dental implants maintain your face and smile. Dr. Bruno Sharp advises talking to a tooth replacement professional first since confident choices change your look over time, which may not be desirable. Because dental implants are so complicated, you should only consult with an expert. If you're unhappy with the appearance of your teeth, modern cosmetic dentistry in Miami, FL, can assist. Sharp Dentistry & Associates has AAID-accredited implant dentists on staff. These dental implant professionals meet crucial educational, training, and competency criteria to make the implant process pleasurable.

Dear Valued Patients, I hope this letter finds you well.  I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincere appreciation to you for your loyal support and confidence you have had in me over the years.  It has been my goal to provide you with the highest quality dentistry and to do so with the care and compassion you deserve. I have enjoyed treating each and every one of you over the years, in some cases seeing three generations of the same family.  Again, thank you for your loyalty. With that said, I am excited to announce my transition to the next step in my life after thirty-eight fulfilling years of providing dental care.  I have done a thorough search for candidates to entrust the care of my patients. I have found the right doctors, the father-son team of Drs. David and Matthew Scurria, and their partner, Dr. Joseph Zaino who will be providing the majority of your dental care. Dr. Dave has been in practice for 35 years in Dublin.  He is a Miami University graduate and attended the University of North Carolina Dental School.  He has well over 1500 hours of continuing education and has a very similar philosophy of providing care to his patients as we do here in our office. Dr. Matt is also a graduate of Miami University and attended The Ohio State University Dental School on a Health Care Scholarship from the US Air Force.  He practiced dentistry for four years in the Air Force before joining his dad in practice.  Dr. Matt has extensive training in restorative dentistry, extractions, dentures and implants.  He and his wife, Allison, have a 2 year old daughter and an 8 month old son. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, golf, woodworking and running with his dog, Riley. Dr. Joseph Zaino, also a Miami University graduate, went to dental school at the University of Louisville and is a lifelong resident of Northwest Columbus.  He practiced in Kenton for four years, providing dental care at the Community Health Center.  He has experience in diagnosing emergency dental problems and treats them with gentle care and efficiency.  He strives to bring more value to his patients through his training in IV sedation, implant placement and routine dental treatments.  He is married and loves spending time with his wife, daughter, and dog, Luna.  Dr. Joeseph enjoys Ohio State football, working out, and being involved in his church. They are all looking forward to meeting you soon. I will still be practicing for several weeks into the new year, providing care, finishing up any work I have in progress and making introductions to the new team.  I have full confidence in them and know the quality of care that we have always strived for will continue. I wish you all good health and prosperity. Thank you for your support, confidence and friendship over the years. It has been a great pleasure to be your dentist. Sincerely, Jeffrey E. Himler, DDS, MAGD

If you read newspapers featuring celebrities with twisted looks, you will probably assume that those celebrities visited Miami to have Botox injections. People confuse botched plastic surgery procedures with botched Botox injections for some reason. You won't look any worse after getting Botox. It has the opposite effect. People who desire to seem younger are the target audience for Botox. It is a process that smooths out the look of wrinkles, fine lines, and crow's feet, which may take years off of your eyes. Botox has been the subject of a seemingly endless supply of urban legends, which is why we have collated two of the most persistent fallacies and debunked them once and for all in this blog. Misconceptions about Botox That You Should Avoid Botox Causes a Freezing Effect on the Face. There is a good chance that you have seen celebrities and artists whose skin was stretched out and appeared frozen, and there is a good chance that you have read somewhere that their faces were treated with Botox injections. This may occur if the medical professional in Miami administered an excessive amount of Botox to the patient. It is in your best interest to go for a highly qualified provider with a wealth of knowledge if you want to avoid having your skin look horrifying rather than outstanding. If you go to an inexperienced practitioner, you will only get that frozen face look. Addiction to Botox Is Possible The belief that Botox in Miami is addicting is another common misunderstanding regarding the treatment. The opposite is the case. Botox does not include any components that are addictive or that will cause you to become dependent on the medication. If you discontinue therapy, the lines and wrinkles on your face will not become more severe as a direct result of your decision; nonetheless, they will become more visible as time passes. Following a Botox treatment, the drug's effects will continue to be effective for four months. Because they were satisfied with how their skin looked after the treatment, patients frequently return for further sessions even after the benefits of the initial treatment have worn off. Have You thought About Trying Botox in Miami? Botox is the solution for you if you want to see ten years younger than you are. At Sharp Dentistry & Associates, we want you to have an experience that is as stress-free and pleasant as is humanly feasible during the whole procedure. Because of this, we make it a point to offer a warm greeting and an atmosphere free of tension from the moment you come through the front door to the moment you leave the building. Dental veneers, also known as porcelain veneers or dental laminates, are thin shells of porcelain that are custom-made to fit over the front surface of a tooth. They are commonly used to improve the appearance of teeth that are discolored, chipped, or slightly crooked. How Dental Veneers Work Dental veneers are bonded to the front of the tooth using a special dental adhesive. The tooth is first prepared by removing a small amount of enamel from the front surface. The veneer is then placed over the prepared tooth and a special light is used to harden the adhesive. Once the veneer is in place, it will look and function just like a natural tooth.   Benefits of Dental Veneers Improve the appearance of discolored or stained teeth. Dental veneers can be used to whiten teeth that are resistant to traditional whitening methods. Repair chipped or broken teeth. Veneers can be used to repair teeth that are chipped or broken, giving them a natural, healthy appearance. Straighten slightly crooked teeth. Veneers can be used to straighten teeth that are slightly crooked, giving you a more attractive smile. Close gaps between teeth. Dental veneers can be used to close gaps between teeth, giving you a more symmetrical smile. Longevity. With proper care, dental veneers can last for many years.   Risks and Drawbacks Removal of tooth structure. In order to place a veneer, a small amount of tooth structure must be removed. Not reversible. Once a veneer is placed, it is not reversible. Veneers can chip or break. While veneers are durable, they can chip or break if not taken care of properly. Expensive. Dental veneers can be expensive, and may not be covered by insurance. Sensitive teeth. Some people may experience sensitivity after the procedure, but this usually goes away after a few days. Maintenance. Veneers require regular maintenance and check-ups to ensure they are in good condition and to avoid any damage. Overall, dental veneers can be an excellent option for improving the appearance of your teeth, but it is important to weigh the benefits and risks before deciding if this is the right choice for you. Consult with your dentist to see if dental veneers are a good fit for you and your oral health. Your dentist will help you to understand the pros and cons of the procedure and will also guide you through the process to make sure you are comfortable with the decision.
